Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti made a beeline for Federico Valverde, on the back of the club’s latest outing.

This comes after the Uruguayan conjured up a moment of match-winning brilliance.

Real Madrid marked their return to action a short time ago, welcoming Athletic Club to Spain’s capital for a crunch La Liga clash.

Los Blancos headed into proceedings aware that nothing but a victory would suffice, after Barcelona’s comeback downing of Celta Vigo on Saturday.

And, when all was said and done, bag a much-needed three points is precisely what the evening’s hosts managed.

It was the aforementioned Fede Valverde, meanwhile, who notched the only goal of the clash, lashing a stunning volleyed effort into the far top corner deep into injury-time.
