Valencia have been boosted in their penultimate workout before hosting Celta at Mestalla, with several returns and Filip Ugrinic completing Friday’s full session in Paterna.

According to Superdeporte, Stole Dimitrievski and Eray Cömert are back from international duty and training as normal, while Thierry Correia has also rejoined the group.

The standout positive was Ugrinic keeping pace with the group throughout. The Swiss midfielder has managed a knee issue for the past 10 days and missed the match at the Pizjuán, so any inclusion on Sunday will depend on his sensations and the head coach’s decision. He has been carefully handled during the international break.

The only confirmed absentees remain Copete, Foulquier, Diakhaby and Julen Agirrezabal, all long-term injuries.

Valencia sit 12th on 35 points, seven clear of relegation and six off sixth with nine games left. Beating Celta on Easter Sunday would increase that cushion and keep them in the European chase. Seventh could also offer a route into Europe depending on Spanish results in Europe or the Copa del Rey final.

Captain José Gayà fractured his cheekbone against Sevilla, has trained this week with a protective mask and will also use it against Celta. It would not be the first time he has played with facial protection.
