Casemiro has confirmed his final position on potentially leaving Manchester United before the close of the summer transfer window.
United are believed to be keen on parting ways with Casemiro, who has one year left on his contract, but offers for the veteran midfielder have not been forthcoming.
Earlier in the summer, Casemiro was briefly linked with a transfer to the Saudi Pro League but nothing came off it and links have since gone cold.
The Brazilian endured a tough start to last season but enjoyed a dramatic uptick in fortunes following Ruben Amorim’s arrival as Erik ten Hag’s replacement.
While Amorim has often praised Casemiro, Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s push to reduce United’s wage bill means the club remain open to his departure should a suitor emerge.
However, Casemiro has insisted he has no intention of leaving United before the end of the month.
The five-time Champions League winner told club media, “I am very happy here.”
“My family is happy here. I enjoy every day at Carrington and at Old Trafford. If people talk from the outside, that’s fine, it doesn’t interest me.”
“I just want to focus on winning.”
Despite suffering a 1-0 defeat to Arsenal in their opening match of the 2025/26 season, there were plenty of positives to take from United’s performance at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils only conceded from a costly Altay Bayindir error and rather than let their heads drop down, they came out firing on all cylinders and just narrowly missed out on a share of the points. Amorim’s men fashioned multiple chances and dominated the game.
Casemiro however warned against getting carried away with the display, insisting that the top priority remains to win games.
“Manchester United always has to think about the victory. I’m not going to say that losing is okay, we have to win. Manchester United always has to win. I think we have shown good moments, and we have played much better today, but we have to look for the victory. We are on the right path now.”
“We have a good connection and that’s the path we are taking.”
Asked what has been lacking at United, he answered, “It’s complicated. Everyone can have an opinion. In the last few years, we have reached several finals, such as the Europa League [last season] and the thing missing is to win.”
“Few clubs win these cups and we need to continue thinking about winning these trophies and to continue improving.”
Casemiro and United are back in action on Sunday when they go away to Craven Cottage to face Fulham.
