Casemiro has started in both Manchester United’s Premier League games this season, with Manuel Ugarte and Kobbie Mainoo watching on from the bench.

His stay at Old Trafford was expected to be cut short once Ruben Amorim took charge, as he made his intentions of signing players with added intensity clear from the get-go.

The Brazilian had to make do with a place on the bench for the early part of the head coach’s tenure, but he did not throw all his toys out of the pram, unlike other superstars in the squad.

He worked hard in the gym, showed up to training and tried to grasp what the new tactician was selling. The result: he not only won back his place in the first XI, Amorim was so delighted that all rumours of an impending exit vanished.

Casemiro’s impressive turnaround

As a result of his impressive club form, the 33-year-old won back his place in the national team as well, terming the previous season as one of his best on a personal level.

Naturally, the ex-Real Madrid superstar has attracted plenty of interest from Saudi Pro League sides this window, with Al-Nassr and Al-Ittihad among those eyeing a move for him.

As per Goal Brazil, Cristiano Ronaldo’s side approached the midfield maestro regarding a mega-money move to reunite with his former teammate recently.

However, Casemiro has made it clear that he does not want to leave Old Trafford this year as he has his eyes on making the Brazil team for the 2026 World Cup.

“The Saudi market has once again shown interest in Casemiro. According to GOAL, Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr approached the player, but were told that he wanted to stay at Manchester United, at least until the end of his contract, which ends in June 2026.

Al-Nassr receive Casemiro’s response

“With that, Casemiro refused the Arabs’ approach, and the main justification was the desire to represent the Brazilian team in the World Cup.

“Casemiro has not ruled out a move to Saudi Arabia after the 2026 World Cup. The Brazilian is considering a transfer after fulfilling his desire to play in the last World Cup for the Brazilian national team.”

His contract with United ends in 2026, with the club having the option of adding another year. The five-team Champions League winner is open to a move to the cash-rich league after his contract expires.

Given the rumours linking Mainoo, and Bruno Fernandes with an exit, Casemiro staying will be a positive for Amorim. Even though he does not have the legs anymore, he can make a difference if used properly.

Once he leaves, INEOS will save a lot on wages, which could help them reignite their pursuit of Carlos Baleba, seen as the ideal defensive midfield heir.
