Cata Coll targeted OL Lyonnes after Barcelona’s 4-0 Champions League final win on Saturday. According to L'Équipe, the 25-year-old goalkeeper told Spanish broadcaster 3Cat, then reiterated in the mixed zone, that money does not buy everything, a clear nod to OL president Michele Kang’s heavy investment.

Barcelona’s victory in Oslo delivered a fourth continental crown, taking them halfway to Lyon’s record tally of eight.

Lyon’s general manager Vincent Ponsot replied by asking whether he even needed to comment, pointing to the club’s European record. Kang was in attendance at the final.

Captain Wendie Renard said she had no particular answer and did not wish to wade into a row. She added that Barcelona should be congratulated and that at OL they have always done things properly and kept working.
