Danilo Cataldi and Lazio appear set to extend their union, with the Biancocelesti having opened talks over a new deal for the midfielder, whose current contract expires in 2027.
According to Il Messaggero, via TuttoMercatoWeb, an initial meeting has already taken place between the club and Giuseppe Riso, the player’s agent, in recent days.
Both parties are said to be keen to reach an agreement without any great difficulty, with Cataldi eager to continue his adventure at Formello and no urgency to finalise terms.

The idea is to tie himself even more closely to the club, in what could become the contract that carries him through to the end of his playing days.
The boyhood Lazio man is currently working his way back from surgery for a groin issue, and will return gradually, following a tailored programme in the early days of pre-season.
His importance to the new project is clear. Cataldi is expected to be one of the cornerstones of Gennaro Gattuso’s side, with the pair having already spoken ahead of the new campaign.
The former Italy boss, now in charge at Formello, views the midfielder as central to his plans and a key figure in how Lazio will play.
