CD Castellón have renewed 22-year-old academy goalkeeper Sergi Torner on a two-year contract to June 2028, and he will be part of the first-team goalkeeping group next season. The club said in a statement that the l'Alcora native steps up after progressing through their ranks.
Torner has been the B team's first-choice in recent campaigns, playing 28 matches in Segunda RFEF last term. Next season will be his sixth at the albinegro club, having arrived as a youth, and he now makes the definitive jump after training regularly with the seniors.
He expressed happiness and excitement at the promotion, calling it a source of pride and the result of many years of work. The Castellón supporter since childhood underlined the value of local players reaching the first team.
He joins a squad with a strong local core, alongside a coaching staff led by Pablo Hernández.
His renewal follows the extension of Argentine defender Agustín Sienra. To date, Castellón have confirmed four signings, full-back Juanjo Nieto, midfielders Fran Castillo and Álvaro Martín, and winger Iñigo Córdoba, plus the return of loanee José Albert.
Torner looks ahead with optimism, noting a tight-knit group carried over from last season and new arrivals who could contribute significantly.
