Celtic 2-2 Aberdeen – Great advert for the Scottish game, but it’s two points dropped

Finally, some time to breathe after what was a fantastic game of football, well for the neutral anyway…

We often complain that teams sit in against us at Celtic Park, but today it was a refreshing change to see a side be so adventurous against us and it made for quite the spectacle and a great advert for the Scottish game.It was a classic game of two halves. We should have been out of sight at halftime and were well worthy of our lead, but we seemed so disjointed in the second half and Aberdeen more than deserved a share of the spoils for their second-half showing.

However, we only have ourselves to blame. To drop two points with a two-goal lead, especially at home is inexcusable. Especially in the way we let Aberdeen back into the game through a mixture of individual errors and bad defending.

We also missed a host of chances on any other day we would have taken and the scoreline would have been so much different, but the fact is we didn’t and in the end it cost us two points, although it could’ve been much worse had VAR not correctly intervened after Aberdeen looked to have grabbed the lead.

At the end of the day though we are still top of the table due to a much better goal difference, and we remain unbeaten. We just need to put it down as a bad day at the office.
