Celtic face VfB Stuttgart in Europa League play-off round

Celtic have been drawn with Bundesliga outfit, VfB Stuttgart, in the UEFA Europa League knockout round play-offs following today's (Friday) in Nyon.

The German side beat Swiss team YB Bern 3-2 in Thursday night’s final round of league phase games at home in the Neckarstadion.

Stuttgart finished in 11th place in the league phase with 15 points after last night’s action.

Celtic last met Stuttgart in the 2002/03 UEFA Cup, winning 3-1 in Glasgow and losing 3-2 in Germany for a 5-4 aggregate win on the road to the UEFA Cup final in Seville.

The first leg is scheduled to go ahead at Celtic Park on February 18/19, with the second leg at the Neckarstadion set for February 25/26. Further details to follow.
