Celtic are in talks to sign FC Aarau striker Elias Filet as manager Martin O’Neill looks to strengthen their attacking ranks, according to Sky Sports Switzerland.
The Hoops want to defend the Scottish Premiership title next term, and they are keen to bring Filet to Parkhead.
They held a video conference call with his agent on Tuesday and want to reach an agreement with Filet before holding talks with Aarau.
The 24-year-old has bagged 20 goals and four assists in 34 Swiss Challenge League games since joining the second-tier club in January 2025.
A move to Celtic could appeal to him, but KRC Genk and FC Lorient are also interested in him.
Lorient are also in contact with his representatives and are preparing a concrete offer, while Genk have already tabled a bid.
Celtic’s ability to offer Champions League football could work to their advantage, and more talks are expected in the coming days.
The Frenchman is known for his aerial prowess and clinical finishing, with his excellent heading ability and his powerful left foot being his major strengths.
Celtic could do with Filet’s power, efficiency, and aerial strength, but they also have other attacking targets on their radar.
They have been linked with Rodez winger Tairyk Arconte after he tallied 14 goals and three assists in Ligue 2 last season.
However, they will face competition from AJ Auxerre and Millwall for the 22-year-old.
The Hoops have to improve their squad to boost their chances of impressing in Europe next term. Filet and Arconte could be quality additions to their attack.
