We should see a bit of freshness about the Celtic side tonight as Martin O’Neill rests some tired legs and takes this opportunity to introduce some of his latest January signings…

It’s an early Saturday evening kick off in Paradise as we take on Dundee with a place in the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup at stake.

The game is the target of a boycott, but with the likelihood of several new signings being thrown in to make their debuts, I reckon we should still see decent crowd in attendance.

The likes of Joel Mvuka and Junior Adamu could well make their bow in front of the Celtic supporters, alongside the recently acquired Tomas Cvancara, adding a much needed cutting edge to our offensive area, with the ever so dynamic and energetic Daizen Maeda getting a well earned rest.

Kelechi Iheanacho will also be available after fighting back to full fitness to further improve our options in attack.

At the back we also have plenty of options for a change, with the impressive Marcelo Saracchi also back in contention. If the Uruguayan is not ready we can call on the versatile Colby Donovan to deputise for Kieran Tierney who needs a break after a demanding run of games.

Benjamin Arthur who joined on deadline day in a loan move from Brentford, could also play a part in the centre of defence.

In the middle of the park, the likes of Arne Engels and Benjamin Nygren could well sit out, but skipper Callum McGregor will undoubtedly be a starter, meaning the likes of Paulo Bernardo, Reo Hatate, and Luke McCowan could be handed a start with a tough schedule in mind.

After the postponement of the midweek clash at Pittodrie, the players will be chomping at the bit to get back on the pitch, which can only be good news for the supporters, who have been denied the pleasure of a decent performance all to often this campaign.

A bit of freshness, and new blood is what’s badly needed, hopefully we see the benefits of that this evening.
