Torino’s new signing Cesare Casadei claims that Chelsea blocked his exit numerous times in the past.
Speaking in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Cesare Casadei admitted that his former club Chelsea hindered approaches from several Italian outfits previously despite his desire to leave. He said: “I had been trying for a couple of seasons [to return to Italy] but, for one reason or another, I was hindered.”
The 22-year-old wants to repay the faith Torino had shown him since the start of the transfer window and he thanked club president Urbano Cairo for showing a tremendous amount of trust in him.
Casadei’s development was restrained by The Blues since Enzo Maresca found it tough to integrate him in his formation. While he featured 11 times in the Premier League last season with Chelsea, this season, the number came down to just one.
Since departing from the Inter U-19 side, Casadei had an extensive experience in the dynamic nature of English football and Torino hope to extract rich dividends from this transfer.
