According to revelations from Sport, Barça is about to experience a historic moment: the long-awaited return to Spotify Camp Nou after two years of extensive renovations. While the club still had to confirm the venue for the Champions League clash against PSG on October 1st, the announcement is now imminent: the stadium will be ready and will reopen its doors in just a few days, marking the end of a massive project that started back in June 2023.

After two seasons in exile at the Estadi Olímpic, around 27,000 fans will finally get the chance to return home on September 14th for the match against Valencia. The club is still waiting for the final construction certificate and the occupancy license from the city council, but there’s full confidence that approval will be granted within hours. Should there be any delay, the reopening could be pushed back by a week. The return will happen in three phases: the first, for the Valencia game, will open the Tribuna and the South Stand (27,000 seats); the second, by late October, will add the Lateral stand, boosting the capacity to 45,000; and finally, by late November, the North Stand will take the total up to 60,000 seats.

Beyond this first phase, the project includes building a third tier, installing VIP areas, and adding a new roof—transforming Camp Nou into Europe’s largest stadium with a capacity of 105,000.
