Napoli lead Chelsea 2-1 at half-time in Naples after Vergara’s solo goal and Hojlund’s 43 minute finish.

How Chelsea started fast?

Chelsea began the final league phase game strongly at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona and got in front through Enzo Fernández who scored from the penalty spot in the 19 minute.

The early goal helped Chelsea settle and they looked calm for short spell as Napoli tried to respond.

Vergara’s first senior goal changes the game

Napoli then lifted the tempo and played with more aggression.

Their pressure paid off in the 33 minute when Vergara scored his first senior goal with strong solo run and finish that brought the home crowd to life.

From that moment, Napoli looked sharper in attack and more direct in their play forcing Chelsea to defend deeper.

Hojlund makes it 2-1 before half-time

Napoli’s best spell continued and they completed the comeback in the 43 minute.

Rasmus Højlund finished clinically to make it 2-1 leaving Chelsea with work to do after the break.

This is the final league-phase match for both clubs and the stakes are high.

Napoli needed strong result at home while Chelsea came to Naples looking for points to secure their position.
