Chapecoense are close to sealing a deal for Max, the ex-Flamengo midfielder currently at Sport on loan. According to Coluna Do Fla, parent club Cuiabá have signalled they will loan him to Chapecoense.
To speed up the move, Chapecoense have transferred R$ 150,000 to Sport, matching the fee Sport previously paid Cuiabá for the player.
Given the situation, Max is not expected to play again for Sport and is set to miss the Série B match against Atlético-GO. His representatives are working to have him report to Chapecoense by the end of the week.
Max joined Flamengo’s academy in 2020 after a spell with Tupi-MG, making his senior debut the following year. He won the Carioca title with the club and scored one goal in the first team. Domestically he has also represented Cuiabá and Sport, and he had a stint with Colorado Rapids in the United States.
If the deal is finalised, Max would face Flamengo in Série A later this season, with the next meeting after the World Cup break. Flamengo visit Chapecoense on 22 July at Arena Condá. Flamengo are second on 34 points, while Chapecoense are bottom with nine.
