Chappell Roan addressed the row involving Jorginho’s 11-year-old daughter at a São Paulo hotel, saying she did not authorise any confrontation and apologising to the family. The American singer spoke on Sunday, a day after performing as the main attraction on day two of Lollapalooza Brasil.

The Flamengo midfielder had criticised the artist and her team, alleging a security guard confronted his wife and daughter at breakfast with extremely aggressive remarks about not disrespecting or harassing others.

Roan said the person who approached them was not part of her security and that she did not witness the exchange.

She added that she had not instructed anyone to speak to the pair, that they had not tried to engage her, and that it was unfair for security to assume bad intentions when no action had been taken.

Roan stated she does not hate her fans or children, called the situation crazy, and apologised to the mother and daughter, saying a wrongful presumption had been made and that this left her very sad.

Jorginho said his daughter is a fan of the singer and that their only interaction was looking at Roan as she passed their table to confirm it was her.

Roan, 25, is regarded as one of pop’s rising names and won Best New Artist at the 2025 Grammy Awards.
