FLW's Charlton Athletic fan pundit has named which one player they're surprised wasn't sold last summer

Charlton Athletic had a busy summer transfer window following their promotion success from League One.
Nathan Jones looked to build a team capable of competing in the Championship after guiding the Addicks to play-off victory.
Several fresh faces were brought in, with the London outfit looking to survive in the second tier beyond one year.
But a number of players also departed, with the club taking the step up from the third division, leading to the team looking quite different when the window closed on 1 September.
When asked which one player she’s surprised didn’t leave the club this summer, FLW’s Charlton fan pundit Emma Harknett named Luke Berry.
She claimed that game time will be limited for the 33-year-old, suggesting he fulfilled his role in the squad by helping the Addicks gain promotion to the Championship last year.
“Personally, I’d say Luke Berry, and the reason I say that is because I don’t really think he had the best impact last season,” Harknett told Football League World.
“But, in my opinion, he was probably signed to get us up into the Championship.
“I believe he’s got one more year left on his deal, but I don’t think there’s a place for him this season.
“I think with us signing Sonny Carey, Harvey Knibbs and Joe Rankin-Costello, I just don’t think there’s a place for him in the team at the moment.
“And I think with the form that Sonny Carey seems to be in, who I think I’ve said to you previously, he’s been the player that’s impressed me so far this season.
“I just can’t see him getting many minutes this season.
“So I think for me, it would either be we loan him out or he looks to move on in January, which would be a real shame.
“But, I don’t think he’s going to get the minutes that he probably wants this season.”
Charlton have made a solid start to life back in the Championship, earning four points from their opening four games, including an opening day victory over Watford at the Valley.
Next up for Jones’ side after the international break concludes is a home clash against London rivals Millwall on 13 September in a 12.30pm kick-off.
Berry’s game time may be limited going forward for Charlton, but he could still have a useful role in the dressing room.
He has a lot of Championship experience, even knowing what it takes to gain promotion to the Premier League, making a valuable leader to have around the squad.
Given he is now 33, Berry will likely know that his best chance at regular minutes is to take the drop down to League One again.
But he could prefer this limited role in the second tier, and it will be interesting to see if he does make the move in January, or if he stays put to help the club fight for their survival.
