Just seeing Ødegaard back is a great boost.
The Gunners got handed a few “firsts” in the UCL this season after the Inter game yesterday, we conceded our first goal of the campaign, and then subsequently our first loss of the season. The pair were both on the same points coming into the clash on Wednesday night with both being unbeaten however only one came out with it’s record intact and that was the home side.
A solitary penalty goal late in the first half from Hakan Calhanoglu was enough to ensure we suffered consecutive losses for the first time this season. Despite our best efforts, we couldn’t penetrate this organized Inter backline, and even though we played far much better than we did against Newcastle, we became all too predictable and over dependent on Saka as the game went on. Confidence will be as low as we’ve seen in a while but the return of our key man should provide some morale boost to the Gunners.

This player in question is none other than Martin Ødegaard who came on to replace the injured Kai Havertz for the remaining five minutes or so, the Norwegian finally kicked a ball for us on the pitch after a lengthy spell on the sidelines through an ankle injury which is just a great sight to behold, just seeing him wearing the armband again on the pitch after just over two months was a very happy sight for the Arsenal faithful.
He’s coming at just the right time where we’re in a bit of a crisis, the Inter loss meant that we’ve won just one of our last four matches in all competitions which you can imagine will have to change very soon if we’re going have any chance making the most of this season.
Ødegaard will certainly help and I pray he’s in the starting eleven when we make the short trip to take on Chelsea at the Weekend.
