Chelsea have reportedly agreed personal terms with Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, according to RMC SPORT.

Per the report, an agreement in principle over a seven-year deal has been reached between Chelsea and Bynoe-Gittens.

The Englishman, who previously spent time in Chelsea’s youth academy, has emerged as a top target for Enzo Maresca’s side as they aim to bolster their attacking options, especially after opting against signing Jadon Sancho on a permanent deal.

Back in the 2022/23 Champions League, Bynoe-Gittens featured briefly across both legs of Dortmund’s round-of-16 clash against Chelsea but has since developed into a key player.

He enjoyed a breakout 2024-25 season, scoring 12 goals and providing three assists across all competitions.

Notably, he became the youngest English player to score in the Champions League, netting against Real Madrid at just 20 years and 75 days old.

Known for his explosive pace and dribbling ability, Bynoe-Gittens is seen as an ideal fit for Maresca’s high-intensity, possession-based system.

The winger’s development in the Bundesliga has been closely monitored by top European clubs, but Chelsea have now positioned themselves as front-runners for his signature.

The Premier League giants are in continuous discussions with Dortmund to finalise a transfer fee, with the club keen to complete the deal swiftly to integrate Bynoe-Gittens into the squad ahead of the Club World Cup, which commences on June 14.

Bynoe-Gittens is well on course to become Chelsea’s second signing of the summer window after Liam Delap, who recently completed a move from Ipswich Town.

However, Chelsea are still in the market for another center forward and remain keen on Hugo Ekitike, while Viktor Gyokeres could also be an option.
