Chelsea and Brazil star Estevao reflects on an ‘incredible’ few months | OneFootball

Chelsea and Brazil teenager Estevao says his emergence as a Premier League and national team star has been “incredible”.

The 18-year-old continued his fine run of form with another goal for his country as Brazil beat Senegal 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium.

He has also impressed for his club since arriving from Palmeiras this summer, and says he wants to keep his strong start going.

“I’m very happy, I thank God so much for this moment,” the Brazilian said after the game against Senegal.

“An incredible moment I’m experiencing. I also thank my family for all their support. I’m enjoying it, really enjoying this moment. I think this is the best moment. I feel better technically and physically. So, I’m going to enjoy this good wave and, God willing, keep helping the Brazilians, which is an honour for me.

“It’s a source of pride and motivation to be here. Of course, we work hard at our club to be here, giving our best every day. And when we come, we’re representing the Brazilian national team, which is an immense pride for me. It’s something I love to do, and I will definitely work harder to come here much more often.

“I’m doing well. I’m very happy at Chelsea.”

Estevao also praised his national team boss Carlo Ancelotti for the confidence he has shown in him: “The mentality is that he’s trying to push me to be the best I can, and I’m very happy about that. You see when someone likes you, when they not only praise you but also give you a little scolding when needed.

“When it’s time to praise, praise. When it’s time to criticise, criticise. So, I’m very happy for this incredible moment I’m living. It’s about working, improving every day. I know I’ve started to improve. I keep getting better and better here because it’s an honour.”
