The top 10 rated players in the Premier League this season.

As you can see above, the answer is Pedro Neto. The winger is the Premier League’s 8th highest rated player, with 7.49.

That might be higher than some would have expected. There is no doubt he’s been good, but there hasn’t been much hype about it, among Chelsea fans or football fans in general. You’ve heard far more about the likes of Antoine Semenyo that the Portugal star.

But the numbers don’t lie. He’s got 4 goals and 2 assists in his 12 Premier League starts. And his form is heading in the right direction too – he has a goal or assist (or both) in four of his last five games. His work rate and tactical intelligence are vital too – he’s not just a stat merchant. Maresca loved him last year, when he managed 10 G/A in the whole season. His new productivity is just a bonus.

Let’s hope his run of goal contributions continues against Arsenal today.

In other news…

Cole Palmer could start today, but even if he doesn’t he will be back in soon, and that means someone is going to miss out. We speculate about who that could be, here.

Ray Parlour has been speaking in the buildup to this game and he said that a draw would be a good result for Arsenal. That’s a big compliment for Enzo Maresca’s team.
