The talented teenager is currently one of the best young centre-backs in the Bundesliga. Therefore, Chelsea would do well to get him on board in this transfer period.

His current contract at Werder Bremen will run out in the summer of 2029, which could make it tough for the Blues to land him on a cut-price deal later this year.

Chelsea Have Identified Coulibaly As A Target: Is He A Prospect For The Future?

Coulibaly is a solid tackler of the ball and can sense the danger well to earn possession back for his side on the defensive end of the field. He doesn’t mind clearing the danger when needed and excels at playing his way out from inside his half. Coulibaly also doesn’t mind putting his body on the line to block some shots from the opposition.

Standing at 1.91m, the German sensation can use his strong frame to dominate the opposition attackers in the air. However, he is still quite raw and would need time to prove his worth in the Premier League if the Blues manage to bring him on board later this year. Plus, there are some concerns over whether he can adapt to the high intensity of English football.

Coulibaly would inject more quality into Chelsea head coach Xabi Alonso’s defence in the long run. He is good enough to fight for a regular first-team spot at Stamford Bridge in the coming seasons.

At 19, Coulibaly has got the potential to be a future star in English football as long as he continues to improve with each season. He is undoubtedly a prospect to watch out for in the future, so the Blues would be wise to try everything they can to secure his services before the end of this transfer window.
