French striker Hugo Ekitiké’s potential jump from the Bundesliga to the Premier League this summer has now produced some concrete names. France’s RMC Sport now lists three interested clubs. Liverpool and Arsenal reportedly have interest. The French publication also claims that Chelsea have already made contact with Eintracht Frankfurt player’s entourage.
Eintracht are obviously not prepared to let their leading goal-scorer go on-the-cheap. The RheinMainAdler are well-known to be demanding a transfer fee of between approaching €100m. It nevertheless might be the case that SGE management will accept a lower sum if Ekitiké wishes to leave.
As was the case recently with strikers Randal Kolo Muani and Omar Marmoush, the general philosophy of Eintracht holds that players are welcome to make the leap if they so desire. SGE board-member-for-sport Markus Krösche admitted as much in a recent Sport1 interview.
“He is one of the most interesting strikers on the European market,” Krösche told the German broadcaster. “It’s up to Hugo to decide. I’m glad we have him. If he decides otherwise, we have our credo.“
