Real Madrid’s search for midfield reinforcements could soon focus on one of the biggest names in European football, with fresh reports suggesting Enzo Fernandez is open to leaving Chelsea and would welcome a move to the Santiago Bernabeu.
According to journalist Mario Cortegana (h/t Madrid Xtra), the Argentine midfielder remains highly attracted by the possibility of joining Real Madrid.
The player has been linked with the Spanish giants on several occasions in recent years, but the latest developments suggest the situation may now be more favourable than before.
It must be noted that although Chelsea are not actively trying to sell Fernandez, the midfielder is no longer considered completely untouchable within the club’s plans.
That subtle change has inevitably sparked fresh speculation about his future.

It is said that while the Argentine remains one of Chelsea’s top performers, the Premier League side would be willing to consider offers for Fernandez under the right circumstances.
However, it must be noted that the Premier League side are not under pressure to cash in, which is why the biggest obstacle remains his transfer fee.
Chelsea reportedly value the Argentina international at around £120 million, which translates to approximately €138 million.
Such a figure would make Fernandez one of the most expensive transfers in football history and represents a valuation that Real Madrid currently consider excessive.
According to previous reports, Real Madrid would be more comfortable with a package closer to €100 million plus performance-related bonuses.

Furthermore, an alternative formula could also be explored by including one of their own players as part of a potential agreement in an effort to reduce the overall transfer cost.
Right now, what is certain is that Fernandez has prioritised a move to Real Madrid for some time, and his position could significantly affect the negotiations, as Chelsea will not play European football next season.
Furthermore, recent reports have also stated that the midfielder has emerged as one of Florentino Perez’s strongest potential transfer cards during the presidential election period.
Unlike rival candidate Enrique Riquelme, who has publicly spoken about Rodri, Perez has remained silent regarding Fernandez, but he continues to remain an admirer of the Argentine.
