INEOS have changed Manchester United’s transfer approach — from signing only big-name players with hardly any focus on youth recruitment, the club are now trying to unearth the next gem instead.

That was evident from last summer’s deals for Chido Obi and Sekou Kone while in January, Ayden Heaven arrived from Arsenal despite the Gunners’ best attempts at trying to persuade him to stay.

This summer is expected to be no different, with multiple young stars from across the globe on the club’s radar. One of those young stars is Igor Tyjon of Blackburn Rovers.

The Peoples Person had relayed that the Red Devils had submitted an opening bid in the region of £800,000-£1.2 million for the 17-year-old.

Tyjon bid rejected

As per Blackburn source RoversXtra, the team from Edwood Park have rejected United’s offer and this potentially allow United’s fierce rivals Chelsea to hijack the deal.

The Blues are also “strong admirers” of the England U17 international and a serious offer is expected from them in the coming weeks.

“EXCLUSIVE: Chelsea are strong admirers of Igor Tyjon and are expected to make a serious move for him in the coming weeks.

“Meanwhile, Blackburn Rovers have rejected Manchester United’s proposal for Tyjon, with the decision made yesterday,” RoversXtra wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

The young English forward is versatile and can play up front on his own as well as out wide and as an attacking midfielder, with versatility highly-valued by Ruben Amorim.

He has already made his Blackburn debut this season, making two appearances for the first team in the Championship.

Tyjon has four goals from five reserve games for the Blackburn Rovers U21 side, including a goal against Travis Binnion’s United U21 side earlier in the season.

United will need to hurry up and submit an improved offer to thwart Chelsea and recruit the Blackburn wonderkid if they are seriously interested.
