Chelsea could reignite their interest in Juventus talent Kenan Yildiz next summer.
According to Gazzetta, contract talks between the 20-year-old attacking midfielder and Juventus have hit a brick wall, putting Chelsea and several other interested suitors on red alert.
The Blues are always looking to bolster their squad and have found it incredibly difficult to pass on a talented youngster since the new owners arrived.
Chelsea flexed their financial muscles in the transfer market last summer and are already making plans to bring in more talented players to Stamford Bridge.
Yildiz has been on Chelsea’s radar since he burst onto the scene at Juventus and established himself as one of the finest young attackers on the continent.
The Blues are already brimming with attacking options, but bringing in Yildiz would be another massive coup for the Todd-Boehly-led consortium.
Having just made a name for himself in the senior team, Yildiz still has four years left to run on his contract.
However, his representatives want to make sure his wages reflect his phenomenal rise to stardom and importance to the team.
Juventus are also keen to tie him down to a new deal that would keep the Germany-born Turkish international at the Allianz Stadium until the summer of 2030.
But both parties have been unable to find common ground on financial terms and contract details.
Juventus are said to be frustrated by the lack of progress, while Yildiz and his representatives remain firm on their demands.
The Turkish forward currently earns around €1.7 million plus bonuses, which is one of the lowest salaries among Juventus’ senior players.
At the moment, Yildiz’s camp considers Juventus’ offer to be around €1m per year short of their demands, which has stalled the renewal altogether.
That has opened the door for interested clubs to step in, and Chelsea are ready to take advantage.
The Blues were among the first to test Juventus’ resolve last summer with a reported €67 million bid.
While nothing materialised, they are keeping a close eye on the player’s situation, although they’ll likely face serious competition from Arsenal and Real Madrid.
