Chelsea sign Italian international midfielder Dragoni | OneFootball

Chelsea have completed the signing of Italian international midfielder Giulia Dragoni on a four-year deal.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Blues this afternoon.

The 19-year-old midfielder joins Chelsea from Spanish giants FC Barcelona. Dragoni has spent the last three-and-a-half years with Barca after joining the club from Inter Milan. She initially featured for the club at B Team level before linking-up with the first team. Dragoni also spent time building her experience in a loan spell with Italian club AS Roma.

On the international stage, Dragoni has been capped by Italy on 25 occasions at senior level. She is still awaiting her first goal at international level.

After joining Chelsea, Dragoni said “I still can’t believe I have signed for Chelsea. When I was a child, not even in my biggest dreams did I think I would sign for Chelsea. It’s unbelievable. I’m really excited.

“I spoke with Sonia [Bompastor] and she introduced me to the project here and showed me the possibilities. We all know Chelsea is one of the best clubs in the world so it wasn’t hard to convince me to come here.”

Dragoni is Chelsea’s fifth signing of the summer transfer window.
