Chelsea star wanted at Atlético Madrid this summer | OneFootball

La Liga giants Atlético Madrid have set sights on the signature of a member of the defensive ranks at Chelsea ahead of the summer transfer window.

This comes amid the understanding that Diego Simeone and co. are eyeing a deal for Marc Cucurella.

Atléti are on the hunt for reinforcements on the left with a view to next season, having identified the flank as lacking in quality depth.

A shortlist of full-back targets has in turn been drawn up, with the name of the aforementioned Cucurella circled in red.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo:

‘Marc Cucurella is Atlético de Madrid’s top target to reinforce the left-back position. He has been a target for several summers, but this year his signing is the absolute priority.’

Significantly, it is also noted that Cucurella’s signing is viewed as a realistic one at the Metropolitano, with the stopper keen on a return to Spain.

An offer in excess of €50 million is likely to be required to bring the Stamford Bridge brass to the negotiating table.
