Chelsea FC have amped up their efforts to sign Nantes centre-back Tylel Tati (18) on deadline day, according to L’EquipeThe Blues have reportedly sent a verbal €30m bid to Nantes in order to secure their promising – yet raw and error-strewn – 18-year-old defender. With Jérémy Jacquet (20) now heading out to Premier League rivals Liverpool to complete his medical, Chelsea are scrambling to secure Tati’s signing.

The outlet reports that Chelsea want to convince Tati of taking the usual BlueCo pathway with an immediate loan to Strasbourg for the remainder of the season. Strasbourg would be keen to secure extra legs at the back given that Mamadou Sarr will be recalled. Furthermore, RCSA are still involved in three different competitions with Ligue 1, Coupe de France and the Conference League.

L’Equipe understands that time is running out for Chelsea for several reasons. Tati doesn’t want to rush himself for his first major move out of his formative side. What’s more, Nantes haven’t reportedly been very open to allow one of their starters to leave with very limited time to secure a replacement.
