Real Madrid are in the market for a new player to strengthen a midfield that is searching for a player capable of dictating games with authority and personality.
In that regard, Los Blancos view Chelsea vice-captain Enzo Fernandez as one of the ideal candidates for the role.
Now, according to El Debate, the Argentine international’s objective is clear: to become a Real Madrid player as soon as possible after the World Cup.
Fernandez’s relationship with Chelsea’s hierarchy has become strained after expressing his desire to join Real Madrid. The midfielder is said to believe that a transfer is the best solution for all parties.

The latest development in the operation reportedly involves his agent, Javier Pastore. The representative has held talks with super-agent Jorge Mendes in an effort to help facilitate negotiations between Chelsea and Real Madrid.
Mendes has regained influence around the Santiago Bernabeu due to Jose Mourinho’s imminent return and has already been linked with offering players such as Joao Neves and Ruben Dias to the Spanish giants.
The Portuguese agent’s extensive network within English football is one of the reasons his assistance is often sought in complicated negotiations. And, it appears that his current challenge is convincing Chelsea to engage in negotiations regarding Fernandez’s future.
Chelsea’s financial situation is viewed as a factor that could eventually encourage discussions. The London club will not participate in European competition next season and may need to generate revenue through player sales.

Chelsea value Fernandez him at around £120 million, approximately €138 million. Their intention is not simply to recover their investment but to make a profit.
Real Madrid, however, are believed to have set their valuation significantly lower. The Spanish club would be willing to offer around €100 million plus performance-related bonuses.
Another possibility under consideration would involve including a Real Madrid player as part of the deal.
Although discussions remain at an early stage, foundations are being laid for future negotiations between the two clubs.
