Chelsea will be aiming to get their Premier League campaign back on track on Saturday when they welcome an inconsistent Brighton & Hove Albion to Stamford Bridge.

While a midweek Carabao Cup victory over Lincoln City provided a welcome boost, Enzo Maresca’s side are still looking to bounce back from consecutive defeats in the Premier League and Champions League. They will be confident of a result at home, however, where they are unbeaten in their last 12 league games.

Team News

Chelsea

Chelsea’s injury list remains extensive ahead of their clash with Brighton, with Enzo Maresca confirming Cole Palmer (groin) is out until after the international break. Defenders Tosin Adarabioyo, Wesley Fofana, and Levi Colwill are also sidelined, along with Liam Delap. In better news, Benoit Badiashile and Romeo Lavia have a chance to make the matchday squad for the first time this season, but will require a late assessment before a final decision is made. Robert Sanchez is suspended.

Brighton

Brighton have been boosted by the return to fitness of four players, with Mats Wieffer, Maxim De Cuyper, Brajan Gruda, and Yankuba Minteh all available for selection. The influx of players provides manager Fabian Hürzeler with more options, particularly at full-back. Jack Hinshelwood remains on the injury list along with long-term absentees Adam Webster and Solly March.

Form

Chelsea

The Blues have hit a difficult patch of form in their major competitions, with consecutive defeats halting their early momentum. Despite their recent struggles, their home form remains a major strength. They are unbeaten at Stamford Bridge this season and are aiming for a fourth consecutive home clean sheet.

Brighton

Brighton’s league form has been inconsistent, with a stunning win over Man City followed by a draw and a loss. Their 6-0 cup win in midweek will have restored confidence. However, their away form in the league is a major concern, having lost their last two on the road.

Predicted Lineups

Chelsea predicted XI: Jorgensen; James, Chalobah, Tosin, Cucurella; Caicedo, Fernandez; Estevao, Garnacho, Neto; Pedro

Brighton predicted XI: Verbruggen; Veltman, Dunk, Van Hecke, De Cuyper; Baleba, Ayari; Minteh, Gomez, Mitoma; Rutter
