Chelsea host Everton in the Premier League this weekend with no room for error in the Champions League chase.
Pedro Neto’s stoppage-time winner sealed a comeback win at Fulham last weekend but Chelsea remain outside of the top five as things stand. Enzo Maresca’s side have dipped noticeably since a strong start and have won just six of their last 17 league games.
The clash with Everton begins a tough run-in for the Blues. Chelsea face champions-elect Liverpool, fellow top-five contenders Newcastle and Nottingham Forest, and Manchester United in their final four games.
Enzo Maresca could be without Malo Gusto for the rest of the season after the right-back was forced off at Fulham last time out. The Frenchman could join compatriot Wesley Fofana in seeing his campaign curtailed.
Tyrique George will hope to make his full Premier League debut after scoring at Craven Cottage. The 19-year-old came off the bench to equalise before Neto’s 93rd-minute winner.
Maresca will hope to find some spark in his attack with Nicolas Jackson and Cole Palmer struggling to replicate their early-season form. Palmer has now gone 16 games without a goal in all competitions.
Chelsea predicted XI: Sanchez; James, Chalobah, Colwill, Cucurella; Enzo, Caicedo; George, Palmer, Neto; Jackson.
Chelsea host Everton in the Premier League on Saturday 26th April 2025. Kick-off at Stamford Bridge is 12:30pm BST.
The game will be shown live in the UK by TNT Sports.
