Chelsea will make a late decision on Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro for Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final against Leeds United at Wembley, while winger Estevao Willian is unavailable for the remainder of the campaign.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, the Blues have one win in their last eight and a midweek 3-0 defeat by Brighton and Hove Albion ended Liam Rosenior’s spell, with Calum McFarlane installed as caretaker until season’s end.

McFarlane’s first assignment is to halt an in-form Leeds. They are unbeaten in seven and a 97th-minute equaliser at Bournemouth moved them to 40 points and close to safety. They beat Chelsea 3-1 at Elland Road and came from two down to draw 2-2 away.

Palmer troubled Leeds in that 2-2 meeting, yet his involvement this weekend remains uncertain. McFarlane said both Palmer and Joao Pedro trained and are in a good place, with another session planned before a decision is made. He added they hope the pair can be involved.

On Estevao Willian, McFarlane said the young winger faces a spell out and the club will support him through his recovery.
