We wrote on this website the other day about Angelo Stiller and how much of a potentially brilliant option for Chelsea he could be, and it seems like the Blues were listening.

Today, our writer Simon Phillips has an exclusive on his Substack with some details about Chelsea’s interest in the Stuttgart midfielder.

Chelsea worry about Enzo replacement’s big weakness

Phillips writes that Chelsea have had scouts at a “number” of his live games, and are looking to make a move to sign him this summer. The Germany international has been really impressive for a rising Stuttgart team.

Chelsea aren’t looking likely to make a move for him however – why? Because of a “concern” around a lack of pace. Despite liking his ability on the ball, his ball striking and passing range, clearly the Blues are looking to improve on the relatively immobile Enzo, not buy a player with the same problems.

The conclusion is that Stiller “is likely to make a move this summer” – but it won’t be to Chelsea.
