Bayern Munich remain admirers of Chelsea centre-back Josh Acheampong ahead of the summer transfer window, reports Christian Falk.
The Blues defender is understood to fit the desired profile that the reigning Bundesliga champions are looking for.
The 19-year-old’s current terms are set to expire in the summer of 2029.

Bayern Munich are ‘keeping track’ of the teenager amid their ongoing pursuit of centre-back reinforcements.
“It is TRUE: Bayern Munich are keeping track of Josh Acheampong,” Falk exclusively informed CF Bayern Insider.
“The Chelsea centre-back fits the kind of profile the Bavarians are looking for. He’s 19 years old, he’s not so expensive, and has genuine quality for the future.
Dayot Upamecano and Jonathan Tah remain the favoured first-choice centre-back pairing.
However, it’s suspected that a spot could open behind the senior stars in the second pairing, with Kim Min-jae expected to depart in the summer.
That would see Acheampong join Hiroki Itō as the Bavarians’ backup options from the 2026/27 season onwards.

The stats paint the picture of a pretty classic central defender. Acheampong is comfortable with the ball at his feet, but doesn’t fit neatly into the category of a ball-playing centre-back.

He’s far from wasteful with the ball, but he’s not a direct chance creator compared to peers in the Premier League like Virgil van Dijk.
The Chelsea man can progress the play on the dribble, but his clear strong suit lies in direct defending in duels.
That said, Josh Acheampong is remarkably ineffective in the air (58.8% aerial duel win rate) for a footballer standing at 6′ 3″.
Dayot Upamecano will have at least some say, of course, on how hard Bayern Munich push for this transfer.
The French international remains in talks with the Allianz Arena-dwelling outfit over a contract extension. It’s understood that progress has since slowed to a near grinding halt.
Christian Falk went on to add: “Of course, Bayern are still planning with Dayot Upamecano and Jonathan in the defence. So, they don’t want to bring someone in who’s looking to immediately start in the backline. That’s why players like Acheampong are interesting for FC Bayern.
“I heard that last summer Bayern also showed interest in the teenager, but, at the moment, they have to wait to see what Upamecano decides to do.”
Ultimately, of course, this should concern reported targets like Borussia Dortmund’s Nico Schlotterbeck – who will be pushing for a starting role – infinitely more.
Josh Acheampong, by contrast, is far from being a clear starter or leader in the Chelsea backline.

The main obstacle here, in our view, will be how highly the Londoners rate their teenage prodigy – not to mention the Englishman’s personal career aspirations.
Either way, it’s a route FC Bayern must seriously consider, having already missed out on Marc Guehi (Manchester City). Not to mention the threat of losing another target in Jeremy Jacquet to the Premier League.
