Juventus director Giorgio Chiellini refuses to complain about the kick-off time of their match against Fiorentina and sees ‘room for improvement’ in the squad: ‘It’s important to win the game and prepare for these last seven days to reach a crucial goal.’
Juventus host Fiorentina at the Allianz Stadium today in their final home game of the season.
“It’s an important game, we play at home, and we are ready to play it in the best way. There isn’t much calculation to make; you see the atmosphere, we have to win,” Chiellini told Sky Sport Italia.
The game begins at 12:00 CET (11:00 BST). It’s an unusual kick-off time, given that the Roma prefect has ruled that the Rome Derby must begin 30 minutes before the usual time to avoid clashing with the Italian Open Tennis Final, scheduled later today at the Foro Italico, next door to the Olimpico.

This means that all four other teams battling for a Champions League spot, including Juventus, must begin their games at the same time.
It’s been a week of uncertainty regarding the Serie A Round 37 scheduling, with the Rome Derby initially postponed to Monday evening by Italian authorities and then moved back to today at 12:00 CET.
“Obviously, everyone prefers to play these games in the evening. Mistakes have been made, but we have to go beyond,” argued Chiellini.
“Luckily, it’s not as hot as one would expect, but the conditions are the same for everyone. It’s important to win the game and prepare for these last seven days to reach a crucial goal.

“There are five teams within just a few points, which means other teams also struggle with consistency and don’t kill off games,” concluded the ex-defender.
“In modern football, the difference between the top teams and the bottom ones is not that big. In recent weeks, Verona have given a hard time to Como, Juventus and Milan. Everyone has room for improvement. It would be important not to leave this game open until minute 90 because then you can run risks with dead balls, a shot from outside the box or an error that can affect the other 89 minutes.”
