Guadalajara capped off a perfect week in Liga MX with their third consecutive win to start the Clausura 2026, defeating Querétaro 2–1 on Saturday night at Estadio AKRON. League play will pause next week due to the FIFA international window, as the Mexican National Team plays two friendlies ahead of the 2026 World Cup—matches that will feature eight Chivas players.
From the opening minutes, Gabriel Milito’s side asserted control, quickly breaking down Querétaro’s low block with sharp ball circulation and constant movement. That dominance paid off when Armando “La Hormiga” González opened the scoring.
The second half followed a similar script, with Chivas knocking repeatedly on Querétaro’s door. Roberto Alvarado’s goal doubled the lead and gave the hosts greater control. Although Chivas conceded their first goal of the tournament late on, the result was never truly in doubt.
Chivas’ next match will be on January 31, when they visit Atlético San Luis at Estadio Libertad Financiera, with kickoff set for 5:00 PM.
