Chloe Webb previews Bromley v Brentford Women | OneFootball

Following their LSE Division One North triumph last weekend, Brentford Women turn their attention to completing a perfect season when they face Bromley on Sunday (1pm kick-off BST).

The clash at Bromley Football Club will be the fourth road trip in a row for the Bees, before they round off their season at home against Hackney on 18 May.

Defender Chloe Webb stated that while the team were excited to secure the league title and promotion, they were focused on continuing their winning form this weekend.

“We’re 20 games unbeaten now [in the league], we just want to continue that on, especially in the next two weeks,” she said.

“Now that we’ve secured promotion, I don’t think anyone is going to be lenient. Everybody knows, it’s not something we have to talk about, everybody knows that we want to get 22 wins out of 22.”

Looking ahead to Bromley, a side the Bees defeated 4-2 in March, Webb said Brentford would be aware of their ability on the ball come Sunday.

“They’re very good at passing through the middle," Webb continued. "They’re not shy on the ball, so I think as long as we play our game and we stick together and we keep the ball on the ground and move it, then I think we’ll be fine.

Reflecting on last weekend’s title-clinching 4-2 win over Clapton Community, Webb said it wasn’t until the final whistle blew that the team could soak in their achievement.

“I don’t think it hit us until we started to celebrate. During the game we didn’t really speak about it, it was just another game,” said Webb.

“It doesn’t feel real yet, obviously I’ve been here and we’ve finished second, one point off promotion, so going through that was quite hard, but I think bouncing back from that has just shown everybody that we can do it.”

Last time out

Brentford secured the league title and promotion to tier five with a 4-2 win over Clapton Community at Old Spotted Dog Ground last time out.

Needing three points to make 100 per cent sure of the title, the Bees wasted little time going on the attack, Ashley Cheatley scoring inside five minutes.

Maddie Phillips added a second soon after, before Nikki Woods made it 3-0 from the half-time re-start.

Despite two second-half goals from the hosts, Carolin Engelhard’s long-range strike with her left foot was enough to secure the win and the title.

Previously against Bromley, a Chloe Logie hat-trick led Karleigh Osborne’s side to a 4-2 win at Gtech Community Stadium.

Cheatley added a goal too, the Bees picking up a vital three points against their promotion rivals in front of a 3,604-strong crowd in west London.

The side wasted little time putting its stamp on the league, with big wins over Actonians Reserves (9-2), Ashmount Leigh (9-1) and Richmond Park (11-0) highlighting the strength within their group.
