Borussia Dortmund produced a commanding display at Signal Iduna Park as they hammered Athletic Bilbao 4-1 in their Champions League clash.

From the start, the home side looked sharp and quickly took control, never letting up for a moment.

The breakthrough came in the 30th minute when Daniel Svensson slotted home a neat left-footed finish, capitalising on Karim Adeyemi’s clever setup. Dortmund doubled their advantage shortly after the break, Carney Chukwuemeka rifling a stunning shot into the bottom corner after a slick pass from Serhou Guirassy.

Bilbao briefly threatened a fightback when Gorka Guruzeta pulled one back in the 61st minute, but Dortmund’s attacking intensity proved too much.

Serhou Guirassy himself got on the scoresheet in the 82nd minute, turning provider into scorer from a Marcel Sabitzer corner, before Julian Brandt added gloss in stoppage time with his first goal of the Champions League season.
