CIES study ranks Flamengo’s Wallace Yan among Brazil’s top 20 prospects | OneFootball

A CIES Football Observatory study has named Flamengo forward Wallace Yan among Brazil’s top 20 under-23 prospects, placing him 20th. According to Coluna Do Fla, the ranking covers emerging talents across the Brasileirão.

The methodology evaluates statistical performance over the past six months across eight areas of the game. It also weights minutes played, the importance of matches and the strength of each competition.

Wallace Yan has been in Flamengo’s senior squad since 2024, recording 43 appearances, seven goals and five assists. This season the 21-year-old has had limited opportunities due to competition from Pedro and Bruno Henrique.

Fellow Flamengo academy product Victor Hugo also features, sitting 13th. The midfielder played more than 100 games for the Rio club and is now at Atlético-MG after spells with Santos and in Türkiye.

Flamengo and Atlético are scheduled to meet on 26 April in Belo Horizonte. Before that, Flamengo face Bahia in the league on Sunday the 19th, then Vitória in the Copa do Brasil on Wednesday the 22nd.
