FLW's Huddersfield Town fan pundit has given his reaction to speculation surrounding Cameron Ashia's future

Huddersfield Town are aiming for promotion to the Championship at the second attempt this season.
The Terriers are firmly in the mix for a play-off place, as they look to improve on their underwhelming 10th place finish in the previous campaign.
The Yorkshire outfit face stiff competition in the battle for a top six position, with the club targeting a return to the second division after their 2024 relegation.
Liam Manning is in charge of the squad after replacing Lee Grant as manager in January, and he has been tasked with ensuring the team at least qualifies for the play-offs.
However, the summer transfer window is already providing a minor distraction amid reports that Cameron Ashia is attracting attention from Rangers and Hearts.
It has been claimed by the Daily Mail that the 20-year-old’s future at the League One side is now uncertain, with his contract set to expire at the end of the campaign.

When asked about the prospect of losing the winger this summer, FLW’s Huddersfield fan pundit Graeme Rayner claimed that it would potentially be better for his development to remain with the Yorkshire outfit.
He’s suggested that the 20-year-old is likelier to get regular game time under Manning than if he switched to Rangers or Hearts, given his best performances for the team have come as a substitute.
“I’d hope that we’re not resigned to losing him on a free,” Rayner told Football League World.
“I’d hope that there’s talks ongoing.
“He’s clearly an asset with a potentially bright future.
“He hasn’t really imposed himself on the starting XI enough. I don’t think when he’s had starts he hasn’t necessarily had the same impact as when he’s come off the bench.
“But, I would argue that his development would be better served staying at a club like us and growing with us than go to a club where he’s probably — if he can’t get a starting place with us — he’s not likely to get a starting place, and potentially would be very much a squad player.
“So I would hope that we would keep him, and continue his development.
“He’s very much liked by the fans, the fans want to see more of him.
“He seems happy, so I would hope that if he is out of contract in the summer that we rectify that pretty quickly and put it all to bed.
“Because, even at the weekend, he came off the bench, had an impact and got an assist.
“And he is becoming someone that is relied upon to change games, so hopefully he’ll stay.”
Huddersfield currently occupy a play-off place in League One, but they have played a game more than most of their top six rivals.
Since joining the club, Manning has overseen four wins from seven league games, as well as a single draw, with the team now sixth in the table.
Next up for Huddersfield is a trip to face Wigan Athletic on 28 February in a 3pm kick-off.

Ashia has contributed three goals and three assists from 17 appearances in League One so far this season.
While the 20-year-old has only started twice in the league, his impact off the bench has been quite important.
That he provided another assist at the weekend in their 2-1 win over Barnsley only highlights his importance to Manning’s side.
It would be a real blow to lose him in the summer, especially as they’d receive minimal compensation due to his contract situation.
