Blades' winless run could extend to seven after Saturday's clash with Hull City
Sheffield United are now winless in six Championship games, which could extend to seven after Saturday's clash with Hull City.
And with five matches to go until the season finishes, by all accounts, the 25/26 campaign has been somewhat of a disaster for Blades.
Despite being reappointed by the South Yorkshire outfit just three months after he left, Chris Wilder hasn't been able to work any of his magic and turn the club's fortunes around.
This has prompted questions about whether the 58-year-old remains the right man to lead United forward next season, particularly from Blades fans on social media.

Some Sheffield United supporters on social media have openly questioned Chris Wilder's position following the team's struggles this season.
One fan wrote on X, "We should have moved on from Wilder after [Paul] Heckingbottom was sacked and never brought him back."
Another added, CW [Chris Wilder] has ‘lost’ the dressing room.
However, not all opinions align with calls for change, as some fans have defended Wilder's track record. Someone tweeted, "If you want Wilder gone, go see a doctor for a memory test. Ownership let dead wood set in & any momentum killed with the awful sacking/summer recruitment. Relegation fodder before Wilder came in. We have seen his rebuild history first hand. Dont be thick."
Even still, one reply to that described Wilder as a 'dinosaur' and that Sheffield United need to move away from him.

FLW’s Sheffield United Fan Pundit, Jimmy from Blades Ramble, acknowledges the fan unrest but still backs Wilder to spearhead the club’s recovery.
He told FLW, "Yeah, I’m aware of some fans questioning it and I understand why.
"I understand why there’s concern about Chris Wilder after the season that we’ve had. He hasn’t been able to turn it around after a terrible start, but he has had 35 games in charge now."
At this point in the season, you’d like to think that a 10-point gap between Blades and the relegation zone will be more than enough, but that’s not to say a current 17th-placed finish is anywhere near acceptable.
Jimmy points to squad limitations as a key issue, arguing that Wilder deserves a full pre-season to rebuild, “some would say that’s more than enough to get a tune out of a squad but, if the squad’s not good enough, or the squad’s not cohesive, then it can be a very difficult job,” the Fan Pundit said.
Adding, "For me, Chris Wilder is the right man to help rebuild us. I think we need a complete reset in the summer, and there’s not anybody that I would want leading us more than Chris Wilder."
Jimmy then set a clear benchmark for next year, concluding with, "Look, if we’re in a similar position this time again next year, then I'll be raising questions myself.
"But without him having a full summer to rebuild, after getting 92 points the season before, I think you’ve got to give him the summer and see what he can do."
Ultimately, it seems as though, regardless of what happens during the remainder of the season, Chris Wilder will be given the summer to try and rebuild the best he can at Blades.
