Richard Keys likes to use Manchester United for attention. His bizarre rants never arrive without a hint of shock factor and the latest takes aim at how the club went about approaching Sporting Lisbon manager Ruben Amorim.
Although you won’t hear Keys usher a word when another club approach a manager in the same way (having sacked the previous coach), he is quick to get involved in a debate over Amorim succeeding Erik ten Hag as head coach.
Ten Hag was sacked on Monday after over two years in charge, having won two trophies but being unable to deliver consistency in the Premier League.
That is what Amorim – or whoever is appointed – needs to bring to the table along with a better standard of football.
With United willing to pay Amorim’s termination clause – on top of a fee to waive his 30-day notice period – I don’t see how anyone can complain about how they’re going on about.

Richards is simply looking for something to complain about.
He posted the following on X: “What is it about classless United?
“They admit they met Amorim in the last international break. Did Sporting know?
“And they want him to break his notice period. Would they be happy if an employee of theirs did? Pay the compensation. Do it properly.
“And find £80 million for Gyokeres. He’s sensational.”
Keep in mind that United haven’t admitted anything or release a single statement on Amorim yet.
Richards is just another charlatan who knows nothing about United.
