Claudio Ranieri has been given carte blanche by Dan Friedkin to help lead Roma out of the difficult situation they currently find themselves in.
The veteran technician will take over coaching duties until the end of the season before becoming a senior executive and Dan Friedkin’s main consultant.
Ranieri will be actively engaged in the planning of Roma’s future.
According to Il Tempo, with Ranieri’s arrival, the return of Francesco Totti and Daniele De Rossi cannot be excluded.
Totti himself, in fact, has repeatedly stressed that he sees himself well in the role of technical director. A more practical, “on the field” position, very different from the one he held in 2017, his first managerial experience in the Pallotta era, immediately after retiring from playing football. A position he left two years later due to disagreements with the club.
During his introductory press conference, Ranieri also spoke about De Rossi.
“We have spoken and we will speak again in these days – Ranieri revealed – in addition to having been my player, he is also a great person. For now I just want to focus on what we have to do on the pitch, we will then see what happens in the future”.
