Millwall recorded a big win at home to 10-man Birmingham City on Wednesday night avenging a 4-0 defeat earlier in the season with a 3-0 victory at The Den.
Birmingham are now the fifth team that the Lions have shut out in 2026 with Southampton, Watford, Charlton Athletic, and Wrexham all also unable to breach Millwall's defence.
Indeed no team has conceded fewer league goals in the Championship in 2026 than Millwall (eight) with Norwich City tied on eight while the likes of Middlesbrough and Swansea City the closest on nine.
As we get towards the business end of the season, that defensive solidity could prove vital for Alex Neil's team who are still within reach of second place should Boro falter.
That clean sheet against Birmingham was Millwall's 13th of the league season in total, the most of any team in the division. The shut out puts the Lions now ahead of Stoke City in the charts with the Potters conceding in their 2-1 win at home to Oxford United.
Millwall will be hoping they can add another clean sheet to the tally away to Preston North End on Saturday. The signs look promising too, Millwall have the joint-best defensive record away from home (19 goals conceded) while Preston rank 16th in the Championship home goals scored, netting just 22 times in 17 games.
