Club Finding Deal Talks With Burnley For Star ‘An Uphill Battle’ | OneFootball

Fiorentina have found that ‘negotiations with Burnley remain an uphill battle’ for the potential signature of winger Luca Koleosho.

Burnely will want to gain promotion straight back to the Premier League after relegation to the Championship once again in the recent campaign.

However, it might not be an easy task for the Clarets, who could still see several high-profile players depart from Turf Moor in the summer transfer window.

One of the names linked with a move away this summer is Koleosho, who has been a long-time target for Italian outfit Fiorentina.

Talks have been happening and Fiorentina felt they were close to a deal but Burnley remain ‘unconvinced’ about letting Koleosho join La Viola, as it seems that the club are holding out to get the maximum possible price for the winger.

Now, it has been suggested that ‘negotiations with Burnley remain an uphill battle’ for Fiorentina, according to Italian daily Corriere Fiorentino (via Firenzeviola).

Burnley are demanding a significantly higher fee than the €10m offer made by Fiorentina and the possible switch from England to Italy has not made major progress.

Paris FC also remain keen on Koleosho.

Besides that, not everyone at Fiorentina is convinced about the move, as a former La Viola star believes the club should prioritise the signing of Tottenham Hotspur winger Manor Solomon.

Paris FC have also made a slightly higher offer to sign Koleosho, but Burnley have remained firm on their demands, and Fiorentina do not want to enter a bidding war for the winger.

Koleosho spent the second half of the recent campaign on loan at Paris FC, and the Ligue 1 club were ‘planning to trigger’ the option to buy, but ultimately decided not to.

The 21-year-old winger arrived at Turf Moor from Spanish club Espanyol in 2023, and still has three years remaining on his contract, which puts Burnley in a strong position and in no hurry to sell him this summer.

Burnley have recently appointed Nicky Hayen as the new manager, and it remains to be seen how highly the Belgian boss rates Koleosho.
