Nicolas Jackson will have to wait a little longer. The Senegalese striker will start on the bench for the Club World Cup final between Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain this Sunday.
Having already been a substitute in both the quarter-finals and semi-finals, Jackson once again sees João Pedro preferred as the main striker. After scoring a brace in the semi-final, the Brazilian has earned a head start. Liam Delap is also on the bench.
This is a bold decision from coach Enzo Maresca, who is banking on continuity and current form. Jackson, for his part, could bring power and depth in the second half if the situation requires it.
