Juventus consider a move to bring Italy midfielder Sandro Tonali to Turin this summer to be complicated due to his desire to stay at Newcastle United.

The Magpies secured a spot for themselves in the upcoming Champions League campaign despite losing their final game of the season against Everton.

After complying with the Premier League’s PSR rules in the past two transfer windows, they are expected to spend more freely this summer and are going for Brighton’s Joao Pedro.

However, they will focus on keeping their best players on Tyneside, after they experienced a fine last season.

Eddie Howe will not want to lose his crown jewels, who are standout performers on his side, and Toanli is one of them.

He has been linked with a move back to his homeland since he joined the Magpies and that has not gone away this summer as Serie A giants Juventus are interested in him.

However, the Italy international is happy to stay in England, and that is making it ‘complicated’ for the Old Lady to go ahead with a deal, according to Italian broadcaster Sky Italia.

Juventus are looking to sign a top midfielder this summer and Tonali is a player they like very much.

However, they could now be forced to look at other targets as the Italy star is now preferring to stay at Newcastle.

The English outfit paid a hefty €70m to AC Milan in the summer of 2023 and have no intention of letting the 25-year-old go.

It remains to be seen if Juventus or any other clubs will try to change Tonali’s mind with the transfer window now set to not close for at least another two months.
