Malo Gusto was the star of the show as Chelsea beat Everton on Saturday night, and the full back spoke to the club’s official website at full time.

“I am very happy today. It was very important that we got back to winning ways and with a clean sheet, it couldn’t have gone much better so we are pleased,” the full back said.

The Frenchman got a goal and an assist, helping a rather mediocre performance from the rest of the attack bring 3 points.

It wasn’t just Gusto who had a good game. Trevoh Chalobah and Wesley Fofana made a great partnership at the back, continuing their great run of clean sheets, and Gusto shouted them out:

“We know how important it is to defend properly in the Premier League and to try to not concede. We did that tonight so I am very proud of the team performance.

“They help us a lot, they are very strong at the back and they help us to build as well. It takes a whole team to build and we train to do that every day and tonight we played well so the coach will be happy.”

In Maresca bombshell news…

Enzo Maresca had a strange rant after the game on Saturday where he complained about a lack of protection, and it seems like he was wanting senior figures to come out and defend him after a bad result on Tuesday.

Chelsea’s transfer policy is something which was in place before the manager arrived, and it seems unlikely that he’s started railing against it now, but Ben Jacobs mentions it in his summary of the spat, so it could be a factor.
