Bayern Munich produced a breathtaking 6-0 demolition of RB Leipzig, as Luis Díaz scored on his Bundesliga debut, Michael Olise struck twice, and Harry Kane fired a brilliant hat-trick. Ole Werner’s side had no answer to Bayern’s pace and precision, their defensive frailties were ruthlessly exposed in a statement victory from the Rekordmeister.

Harry Kane (FC Bayern):

“Michael [Olise] was outstanding tonight, he's growing from season to season. Lucho [Luis Díaz] has only been here for a few weeks, but I feel like we have a great connection on the pitch. He started his Bundesliga career very well tonight - and generally, it was a pretty good night for us and our fans.”

David Raum (RB Leipzig):

“It was the worst-case-scenario for us tonight. We fell flat on our faces here. We came here and wanted to leave with three points, but we couldn't really do much tonight - what we really have to work on is to not completely fall apart when things start to go bad. At the end of the match, we were not even able to finish our attacks and get in shooting positions. All of us are responsible and have to take accountability for the performance.”

“Maybe it's better for us that this match happened at the beginning of the season - we can learn a lot from that. We tried to be more brace at the start of the second half, but Bayern were just too good.”

Marcel Schäfer (RB Leipzig, sporting director):

“It was a very difficult evening for us. We know it would be hard against Bayern in Munich - but the result is very disappointing for all of us. We were not able to really shake off the constent pressure Bayern put on us and their incredible individual quality made the difference on multiple occasions. We showed our potential in the first 15 minutes of the second half, where we played well - but you can't beat Bayern if you're not able to hold on to the ball at all.”

“Six goals are a lot, but we deserved to lose the game by this margin. We went into this game with high hopes, wich makes this loss even more difficult.”

“Xavi will, as of right now, continue to play for Leipzig. The transfer window is open and things can always change - but for now, he is our player and will be part of the squad for the next games. Our players know that we all develop together and when the time comes to move on, we're not staning in their way - but it has to be a profitable outcome for all parties involved.”

Joshua Kimmich (FC Bayern):

“It's a great start into the season for us - not just because of the three points and six goals, but because of our performance overall. We had a lot of energy and were able to maintain it throughout the game. We had many great chances in this game, I'm very content - this win was a statement win.”

“This start has a different feeling to it in comparison with other starts into the season over the last years; it feels like we're building on the basis of last season. In the last years, it often felt like a completely new start with maybe a new headcoach as well.”

“I let the referee know, that Leipzig's goal should not be allowed because of the mistake in the build-up - a clear rule break. But I would have given myself a yellow card, too, because I was so stubborn.”

“Karl was rewarded for his mentalitly and quality he has shown in the last few weeks. The young guys are giving it their all and that really puts the ”old guarde" on note - nobody at Bayern can just relax and be rewarded with a guaranteed starting spot."

Ole Werner (RB Leipzig, headcoach):

“This was a very disappointing result for all of us and our fans. We can only apologize to the fans in the stadium especially - they deserved a good performance from us. We have to talk opnely about our mistakes in the club - only then we can really work on them.”

“We were not able to be dominant in Bayern's half at all. They were never going to go easy on us. Every one of us has to take accountability now - even out young and new players.”
